Background:

The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international organisation that supports and promotes bottom-up nonviolent approaches to conflict transformation and positive social change through research, policy engagement, and action.

LPI’s Africa Regional Office would like to invite eligible consultants to provide IPSAS and IFRS training to its finance staff and support the office in the IPSAS conversion process.

Objectives:

To increase the relevant IPSAS and IFRS knowledge and capacities of our staff by equipping them with the required knowledge of the standards, tools, and strategies needed for implementation of the standards, and ensure seamless conversion of IPSAS in the LPI Africa Regional office.

Scope and Key Deliverables

• Training Curriculum: A curriculum with relevant training materials, tools, and strategies focusing on IPSAS and IFRS.

• Delivery of an In-Person Training Workshop: Facilitation of interactive and participatory sessions for staff. The training to be facilitated in Engligh language.

• Pre-and Post-Training Assessments: Tools and administration to measure knowledge improvement and training effectiveness.

• Support on IPSAS convention process and 2025 financial statements: Support provided to LPI Africa Regional office finance team in reviewing and developing policies and IPSAS conversion and IPSAS compliant financial reports for the year 2025.

• Final Report: A concise report summarizing the process, activities, feedback, results, learnings, challenges, and recommendations, to be submitted within 5 days after the training and conversion concludes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years Proven experience delivering training on IPSAS and IFRS

• Practical experience in providing support to INGOs on IPSAS conversion and IPSAS compliant financial statement development, in the context of Ethiopia.

• Strong knowledge of local financial reporting requirements.

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.

Logistics

• Training location: To be confirmed (Addis Ababa or outside Addis).

• Tentative training dates: November 3–7, 2025.

• LPI will coordinate logistics, participant invitations, and provide additional support as needed.

• IPSAS conversion and financial statements development support: November 10 – December 31, 2025.

Application Process

Interested service providers are invited to submit:

a. Technical proposal including the below.

• Updated CV highlighting relevant experience.

• A training outline including key modules, methodology, and expected outcomes, with a well-rounded list of topics/themes to be covered.

• IPSAS conversion and financial statements development support process and methodologies

• Two references from previous similar assignments.

• Copy of renewed /recent professional and/or business license

• Copy of TIN and VAT certificate

b. Financial proposal considering the following:

• Competitive daily rate (including tax, if applicable) covering preparation, training delivery, and post-training reporting days.

• A competitive lump sum amount for the IPSAS conversion and financial statement development support process.

• LPI will cover per diem and transportation costs per its policy if the training is held outside Addis Ababa.
