Urgent Call for Peaceful Dialogue for a Lasting and Inclusive Solution to the Crisis in Eastern DRC

The Community of Practice on Peacebuilding (CPP) is a network of more than fifty national and international organisations working in the fields of peacebuilding, reconciliation, social cohesion and stabilisation in the provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and more widely in the Great Lakes region. Faced with the current crisis in the east of the DRC, the members of the CPP unite their voices and urge local, provincial, national, regional and international authorities and institutions to bring stakeholders back to the negotiating table in order to protect civilians, prevent the conflict from spilling over into neighbouring provinces and countries, and find lasting solutions to the conflicts affecting the region, drawing on the lessons of the past and the expertise and experience of civil society actors working for peace.
