PARTICIPATORY INTERVIEWS IN NAIROBI’S INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS
In 2019 and 2020, LPI conducted a participatory study on individual resilience in areas of long-term, protracted intercommunal conflict and insecurity. Drawing on anthropological and conflict transformation methodologies, the research methodology was jointly developed with a consortium of researchers from the communities engaged in the project. The research was conducted in four urban informal settlement areas of Nairobi, Kenya – Eastleigh, Kibra, Majengo, and Mathare.1
