LPI heade office focuses on three interrelated strategic priorities seeking to implement them in a coherent and complementary way. The office provides a key link for programmes to reach international policy makers.

  • Customizing high-quality programmatic and administrative support to LPI’s Africa programmes
  • Enforcing gender mainstreaming
  • Coordinating LPI’s security framework
  • Coordinating production and dissemination of LPI publications
  • Supporting LPI’s external and internal communication, ensures effective sharing of knowledge
  • Assisting in the development of LPI methodologies
  • Conducting common work for cross-fertilisation
  • Strengthening LPI’s capacity in policy work and awareness raising
  • Facilitating strategic networking
  • Developing capacity in resource mobilisation

Today is a historic day. While LPI is celebrating 35 years since its inception at the Uppsala Life and Peace Conference, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is convening in Backåkra in southern Sweden to discuss how to improve the United Nations’ efforts to strengthen and promote peace around the world.
