LPI holds public event – “Tracks Ahead at 200 Years: Local Actors in Mediation and Negotiations for peace”

The event takes place on Thursday 26 November, 9.30 – 12.45 at Fredens hus, Uppsala

LPI in collaboration with the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University (DPCR), the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) and Uppsala Kommun is holding a public event about the role of local actors in mediation and peace negotiations. The event will be moderated by Henning Melber, Senior Advisor at the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation. The speakers are:

  • Dr Isak Svensson, DPCR, about resent research related to dialogue and mediation
  • Mr. Joel Ahlberg, FBA, on the Iraqi dialogue process “The Sandö Process” and its development
  • Mr Jussi Ojala, Finn Church Aid, on the new global Network of Religious and Traditional Peacemakers
  • Ms Jenny Svanberg, LPI, about LPI’s work with facilitating grassroots dialogue processes in the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes Region.
